United Airlines Launches Daily Flights Between Chicago and Santa Barbara
Travelers across the 805 region have a new way to take off for the Midwest. Starting June 3, United Airlines will begin daily nonstop service between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Santa Barbara Airport (SBA). This new route connects one of the country’s busiest aviation hubs with California’s Central Coast, bringing convenience and opportunity to residents and visitors alike.
A New Connection Between the Midwest and the California Coast
Aircraft & schedule
United’s new route will be operated on an Embraer 175 regional jet, seating roughly 76 passengers. The flight offers a nonstop connection from Chicago to Santa Barbara, eliminating the need for layovers in Denver, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. The planned schedule includes an evening departure from SBA and an early-morning arrival in Chicago, which suits both business and leisure travel.
Who benefits
Visitors from the Midwest now have simpler access to Santa Barbara, the Central Coast, and the broader 805 area. Locals benefit from fewer connections when traveling to the Midwest and easier connections to national and international destinations via United’s ORD hub.
